The 4 Cs
Every diamond is graded on four characteristics. Together they shape how a stone looks and what it is worth, but none of them tells the whole story alone.
Determines brilliance. A well-proportioned cut returns the most light to your eye and maximizes sparkle. It is the C we never compromise on.
Measures the absence of hue. D–F is colorless, G–J near colorless, K–M faint, N–R very light and S–Z light.
Evaluates natural inclusions. Higher clarity is rarer and more valuable, but beauty often outweighs perfection when inclusions are invisible to the eye.
The measure of weight and size. We balance carat with cut, because a larger stone that is poorly cut can look smaller and duller.
How to read a diamond certificate
A grading report documents a diamond’s measurements and grades. We explain GIA and other certifications in plain language, so you understand exactly what you are buying. For natural diamonds, we recommend a GIA certificate only.
- What each measurement means: proportions, table, depth and grades
- How it affects value and beauty: which details matter most for the way the stone looks
- Why a certificate alone isn’t enough: two stones with the same paperwork can look very different. The eyes of an expert, and your own, are key
Shapes & styles
From the classic round brilliant to unique fancy cuts, every shape plays with light differently. We help you understand:
- How each shape affects brilliance and apparent size
- How to match a shape to your personal style and hand
- Why certain shapes are more versatile and enduring than others
Hidden factors that affect sparkle
Some of the most important qualities never appear in the headline grades. We share our expertise on:
- Proportions and symmetry: the geometry behind brilliance
- Light performance: how much fire and brightness the stone actually returns
- Fluorescence: when it matters, and when it doesn’t
This knowledge ensures you choose a diamond that truly shines in life, not just on paper.
Treatments & myths
We educate every client about common diamond treatments, the myths around “perfect” stones, and how to avoid overpriced or misleading options, so the price you pay reflects real quality, not marketing.
Diamonds as an investment
A diamond is both an emotional and a financial investment. We guide clients on long-term value, how to preserve it, and why quality and craftsmanship matter more than trends.
We don’t just sell diamonds. We teach our clients to understand them, so they can make an informed, confident choice.
